Listen to the verdict
Buy the MX Master 3S if it lives on one desk; buy the MX Anywhere 3S if it lives in your bag.
These aren't better-and-worse versions of the same mouse — they're a full-size ergonomic desk mouse and a compact travel mouse that happen to share Logitech's best features (the MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel, 8,000 DPI any-surface tracking, quiet clicks, and Logi Options+ with Flow). Pick on hand size and where you work, not on a spec sheet. If you have a big hand and a fixed desk, the Master is more comfortable for 8-hour days. If you work from cafes, hot-desk, or have small hands, the Anywhere is the one you'll actually keep using.
Hands-on video — MX Anywhere 3S buyer's guide
A hands-on walkthrough of the MX Anywhere 3S — the smaller of the two. It shows the quiet-click switches and the MagSpeed wheel in use, which is the clearest way to judge whether the compact size suits your hand before you buy.

The Master is built for a hand that rests fully on the mouse for hours. The high, sculpted hump fills a medium-to-large palm, the silicone thumb rest gives your thumb somewhere to live, and the dedicated horizontal thumb wheel is a genuinely useful productivity feature — you scroll sideways through wide spreadsheets, Premiere timelines, and Figma canvases without holding a modifier key. At 141 g it has the planted, "stays where I left it" feel that heavier mice are liked for at a fixed station.
The seven programmable controls (including the thumb wheel and a gesture button under the thumb) make it the better mouse if you live in app-specific macros via Logi Options+ — per-app button maps for your editor, browser, and design tool. For an 8-hour knowledge-work or creative day at one desk, this is the more comfortable, more capable tool.
The Anywhere is two-thirds the size and weighs 99 g, so it disappears into a laptop sleeve and works on a cafe table, an armrest, an airplane tray, or — thanks to the same 8K Darkfield sensor — a glass coffee table. That portability is the whole point: it's the mouse for people who don't have a single fixed desk. If you hot-desk, travel weekly, or work from your couch as often as a table, this is the one that's actually with you when you need it.
It keeps the features that matter most: the MagSpeed wheel (here you shift between ratchet and free-spin with a press), quiet clicks, three-device switching, Logi Flow, and 70-day battery on USB-C. What you give up versus the Master is the dedicated horizontal thumb wheel, the sculpted palm support, and two of the programmable buttons. For most travel use, that's a fair trade for fitting in a jacket pocket.

| Need a mouse that fits in a jacket pocket | MX Anywhere 3S |
| Want to save €20 | MX Anywhere 3S |
| Want one mouse for desk AND travel | They complement — many buyers own both |
This is a form-factor decision, not a quality gap — both share the sensor, scroll wheel, software, and battery life that make the MX line worth the premium over a generic mouse. Buy the MX Master 3S if your mouse lives on one desk and your hand wraps around it all day; the palm support, thumb wheel, and extra buttons earn the €20. Buy the MX Anywhere 3S if your mouse lives in your bag, you have smaller hands, or you simply don't have a permanent desk. It keeps most of what makes the Master great in a body that fits your pocket. If you can afford both, they genuinely complement each other — Master at the desk, Anywhere in the bag.
