The two specs to check before you buy

Almost every returned monitor arm comes down to one of two mismatches, so confirm both first. VESA pattern: look at the four mounting holes on the back of your monitor — the spacing is almost always 75×75 mm or 100×100 mm, and the arm's plate must match (larger monitors sometimes use 200 mm).
